Solution Evaluation of Workforce Management Tools
The Client
Large Australian Telecommunications Network Provider.
The Challenge
EQuest Consulting was commissioned to search for a replacement for the client’s existing Field Management Scheduling software. The software was required to enable workforce management staff to dynamically reallocate field engineers from scheduled maintenance duties to respond to real time disruptions to networks across suburban and regional Australia. The client wanted a viable solution in a very tight timeframe of 4 weeks.


How EQuest Consulting Met the Challenge
EQuest Consulting worked with client’s Executive and workforce management teams to gather functional and other requirements for the Field Management Scheduling software. A shortlist of potential alternative solutions was prepared using EQuest Consulting’s knowledge of suitable software packages and by conducting wider research.

A detailed evaluation of each alternative for its closeness of fit to the requirements was made. Reference site visits were arranged for the client to attend and pricing was negotiated with each vendor. A report was prepared and presented to the client with a final recommendation for the best solution based on its suitability and value for money. EQuest Consulting then developed a plan to implement the recommended solution. This was all achieved within the required timeframe.
